Coloured lithographed frontispiece, title and illustrations, one full-page. (Some very light mainly marginal staining.) Original cloth-backed coloured glazed pictorial boards, decorated endpapers (edges and corners rubbed, some light scratching). Provenance: "Hugh J. May with Aunt Celia's best wishes, Xmas 1884" (inscription on "presentation plate" at the front). "One of the most charming and rarest of more than one hundred [tennis] fiction books is The Tiny Lawn Tennis Club, a children's book written in 1882. It is full of beautiful illustrations and commands a big price" (Jeanne Cherry, Tennis Antiques & Collectibles 1995).
