A French gilt-brass petite sonnerie carriage clock with alarm, circa 1890
The anglaise riche case with plain gilt mask to blue, gold and white enamel Roman and Arabic chapter disc, signed LEROY & FILS/57 NEW BOND ST., with subsidiary alarm disc below, blued steel hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs, with sonnerie adjustment lever to underside -- 7 1/8in. (18cm.) high to hilt of handle; with original LeRoy & Fils leather travel case, numbered 4200
