A George II oak longcase clock, mid 18th century
The hood with later urn finials to arched cresting, inset turned columns, rectangular trunk door, on shortened plinth, the 12in. wide brass dial with eagle and urn spandrels to Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture, signed on a disc in the arch W.m Wallen/Henley Oxon, hands later black painted, the eight day five pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 81½in. (207cm.) high
