With foliate cresting to drumhead hood, circular frets to the sides, the tapering trunk with glazed door, with panelled plinth on bun feet, giltwood slip to 13in. diameter engraved brass Roman dial, the centre with subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed H. Connell Glasgow, blued steel hands, the eight day four pillar movement with deadbeat escapement and rack strike on gong to backboard -- 83¼in. (211cm.) high
