The case surmounted by a swag-draped urn and flanked by flowering urns, with musical trophy mounts to the sides, the base with silk-backed panels to front and sides overlaid with laurel wreath mounts, with door to the rear with panels of quatrefoils, raised on toupie feet, the white enamel Roman dial with Roman and Arabic minutes and pierced gilt-metal hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell, stamped on the back plate for JAPY FRÈRES, with hourly trip to musical movement in the base, the 6½in. long pinned cylinder driven by a chain fusee and playing music on thirteen bells, playing 10 tunes in sequence or with manual change via lever to front of case -- 19¼in. (49cm.) high
