A George III mahogany and brass-mounted striking table clock, circa 1795
With brass handle to triple pad top, glazed side panels, foliate cast frets to the front, on ball feet, the white painted Roman convex dial signed T. OLIVER/London, brass heart hands, the eight day twin gut fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, with elaborate foliate scroll engraving to back plate with repeat signature and pendulum holdfast, the movement securing brackets also engraved -- 13¾in. (35cm.) high to hilt of handle
