A William IV Scottish mahogany longcase clock, circa 1835
The hood with turned finials, short arched trunk door with moulded panelling and further panel below, the long plain plinth raised on bracket feet, the 13in. diameter painted dial with gilt painted chapter rings, subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed ALEX.R PATON BANK FOOT, steel spade hands, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 87½in. (222cm.) high
