The hood with wavy arch cresting and inset gilt-capped columns, with breakarch trunk door, on stepped plinth, the 12in. square brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed Jam.s Smyth Saxmundham, plain centre, later hands, the eight day four pillar movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell; composite, case late 18th century, dial adapted, movement 19th century -- 80in.
