Lot Essay

Probably drawn by Richter on a tour of the Harz Mountains. Another drawing, of similar size and technique and showing a distant view of Gernrode am Harz, was formerly in the collection of A.O. Meyer; C.G. Boerner, Leipzig, 16-18 March 1914, lot 651. We are grateful to Dr. Hinrich Sieveking for suggesting this comparison.
