(2) A pair of Empire ormolu-mounted and patinated bronze ewers
Circa 1815, attributed to Claude Galle
Of classical form, each with narrow scrolling spout mounted with an ormolu satyr mask, the ovoid body mounted with stylized acanthus and plumes, with central entwined serpent motif above a pierced ormolu crest, the sides mounted with scantily draped classical figures, the handle cast as a winged mythological female figure on rectangular beaded and reeded tapering stem ending in a cherub's mask, on socle foot and plinth base
