A fine Steiff German Infantryman doll
with felt head, black boot button eyes, painted hair and features, up-turned nose, swivel head, jointed limbs with large hands and bendable knee, dressed in blue felt with red trim and brass buttons, black trousers, oil-cloth boots with leather soles and twenty-six Steiff FF button studs, blue felt hat with red band, leather belt with metal short sword and button in ear with remains of white tag --14in. (36cm.) high, circa 1912
