A NAVAJO YEI RUG
finely and tightly woven in numerous shades of natural and analine-dyed wool, featuring a central cornstalk and four skirted Yei figures, each with uplifted arms, pendants suspended from their elbows and wrists, a bow and arrow at their sides, an array of feathers and rainbow bars in the open field, an attenuated Rainbow Guardian forming the border on three sides, woven by Chiz Chilli Yezzi Bitse

This lot is accompanied by a photograph of the weaver holding this rug with a woman identified as Mrs. Cassady, as well as an unsigned letter, presumably written by Madge Hardin Walters, explaining the iconography of the rug.
