A GROUP OF THREE SIOUX BEADED HIDE PICTURE FRAMES
the first, of semi-ovular form, with central square opening framed by floral and foliate motifs and surmounted by a cross, in green, red, yellow, and purple-dyed porcupine quillwork, edged overall in translucent gold beads, looped beaded fringe along the bottom; the second, of rectangular form, enclosing a black and white photograph of a young native woman holding an infant, decorated with a stylized cross motif surmounted by a five-pinted star on either side, floral sprays above and below, in shades of red, orange, blue, green, yellow and purple-dyed porcupine quillwork, edged overall in blue beads; the third, of semi-ovular form with scalloped bottom edge, the oval opening surmounted by a stylized flower and enclosed by bands of triangular and linear elements, a row of stylized flowers along the bottom, hide tassels below
