each piece constructed of red wool felt with numerous shades of opaque and translucent beads, the collar of semi-ovular form with rectangular cut-out at the neck, decorated with symmetrically arranged floral and foliate motifs extending from "thorned" white stems, scalloped beadwork and brown silk binding along the edges, gray chenille backing; the cuffs, each of usual form, with similar decoration, together with a photograph of woman wearing the collar and cuffs at a costume affair

Provenance
Collected by one of the present owner's ancestors, either a great grandfather or a great great grandfather, who operated a trading post on the Penobscot River, and descended through the family.
