A NORTHWEST COAST CEREMONIAL DANCE BLANKET
composed of a single panel of bright green commercial wool, overlaid on three sides with wide strips of red cotton cloth, centering a spreadwinged thunderbird in red wool trade cloth, ornamented with circular mother-of-pearl shell buttons and small asymmetrical plaques of abalone shell, printed cotton panel at the neck

Collected by Dr. Samuel Atkin, former President of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and Society, on a trip to British Columbia in 1963.
