A rare and important inverted V-twin spark ignition aero engine of circa 1910,
the crankcase engraved Godefroy Paris, the finned steel cylinders with separate heads held in place with studs mounted in the crankcase, exhaust valves operated by cam and pierced rocking arms, distributor, carburettor and float chamber (fitted upside down), spark plugs, inlet manifold and propeller mount and other details, unpainted -- 6in. This engine is four stroke, 30 mm bore and stroke, weighs 1.5 kg and turned a propeller 0.6 m dia x 0.5 m pitch at 2200 rpm.
Monsieur Godefroy once flew under the Arc de Triomphe as a protest against the Government's lack of interest in aviation.
