Edward H. Breese was a British-born silversmith who created custom-made silver holloware between 1921 and 1940. He occasionally retailed his silver in Matthias Hanck's shop. Although some of Breese's silver is in the Art Nouveau style, he specialized in making reproductions of American colonial silver. (See: Darling, Chicago Metalsmiths, 1977, p. 97)
