Lot Essay

Louis Latzarus (1878-1942) was an editor at Le Figaro before the First War and then at L'Intransigeant and Rivarol, well-known polemical newspapers in Paris at the beginning of the twentieth century. He was a man of letters, the author of many novels, political editorials and biographies; that of Beaumarchais was particularly famous for its critical spirit and its political maxims.
