Of baluster shape, the domed covers with seated Buddhist lion and pup finials and painted with a figure seated on rocks in a mountainous landscape, the vases with a continuous autumn landscape scene showing small Chinese figures at various pursuits, some in sampans, others seated on the riverbank conversing or hiking towards a pagoda visible in the distance, while overhead iron-red and gilt clouds swirl, all beneath a deep lappet band around the shoulders, a cell pattern border reserved with chrysanthemum, and lotus scroll around the neck
