The rectangular tray with solid gallery and raised on scroll feet, painted after Rosalba Carriera with the portrait of a fashionable woman within a foliate and floral cartouche, pheasants perched in its branches, the border with fretwork and paired-scroll bands

Lot Essay
Rosalba Carriera (1675-1757) was a Venetian painter popular as a portraitist in the 1720's, 30's and 40's. She lost her eyesight and did not paint for the last ten years of her life.
