Lot Essay

"My figures-the dwarves, ventriloquist's dummies-were, from the beginning, always conceptually oriented. I use architecture to give a "theatrical" frame of reference to the figure. I think we use the word "theatrical" to describe something that doesn't necessarily deal with theatre itself.
