panels depicting children, on a scroll foot, engraved Ariane; the knife, fork and spoon in the Canova pattern, engraved with an initial, all contained in a fitted plush lined case - 11.5oz.

For an example of this pattern see Ian Pickford, Silver Flatware, English, Irish and Scottish 1660-1980, page 143. Mr. Pickford notes that Canova pattern "... was first produced in about 1850 and exhibited by Chawner & Co. at the Great Exhibtion in 1851, being based on Canova's 'Hebe', 'Sappho' and the 'Dancing Girl Reposing.'"
