We are grateful to Professor Lino Moretti for pointing out that he believes the figures in the present painting are by Gaspare Diziani (Belluno 1689-1767 Venice). He believes that Marieschi and Diziani also collaborated in the painting of the Rialto Bridge, Venice now in the Hermitage, St. Petersburg (see R. Toledano, Michele Marieschi. Catalogo ragionato, Milan, 1995, p.77, no.V.16, illustrated).
