A Fine German Binnacle with Compass and Range Finder
German, 20th century
A mahogany staved binnacle with original base, brass arms holding the red and green compensating balls, inclinometer, gimballed compass by C. Plath of Hamburg, gimballed range finder at the top of the brass hood in the form of a stove pipe. Other details include a brass drop front cover to view the compass, a brass tube at the back, access ports for wiring and lighting, and other details.
