Lot Essay

The U.S.S. Franklin was a 74 gun ship and designed by Humphreys and Penrose of Philadelphia in 1815. She had principal dimensions of 187 ft., 50 ft. beam and 19.9 ft. draft. She was broken up at Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1853.
