Lot Essay

Henry Wynne was apprenticed to Ralph Greatorex, and was made free in 1662, in the Clockmakers Guild, and lived to 1709, working in Chancery Lane in London.
Comparable pedestals are illustrated on plate 148 of James Gibbs' Book of Architecture of 1728.
