The firm of Jennens & Bettridge was first recorded in 1815 and by 1844 was described as one of 'the finest and most interesting factories in Birmingham', but which ended in 1864 on the death of Mr Jennens.
One of their specialities was in the decoration of glass as seen on this piano of which a similar example can be seen on their stand of the Great Exhibition of 1851, print no.43 from Dickinsons 'Comprehensive Pictures of the Great Exhibition of 1851' London, 1854.
