THE BOWL WITH CHENGHUA SIX CHARACTER MARK, KANGXI (1662-1722), THE STAND AND PLATES QIANLONG (1736-1795)
Comprising a bowl, painted to the centre with two vajra's forming a cross, the rim and exterior painted with four dragons chasing the 'flaming pearl', 22 cm. diam.; an oblong octagonal dish, painted two the interior with scenes of pavilions in fenced riverside gardens and pagodas, 33.8 cm. long; an oval dish painted overall with flowering peony and chrysanthemum, below a trellis-pattern band, 30.2 cm. long; and a set of eight plates, painted to the centre in underglaze-blue and gilt with a dog seated on rockwork, watching birds in branches of flowering peony and bamboo, 23.1 cm. diam., rim chips and cracks (11)
