A Meissen Hausmalerei saucer
painted in the style of ayer of Pressnitz with a scene of an ironmonger's workshop, the ironmonger depicted mending a cauldron with lanterns and buckets all around, his assistant carrying metal rods in the foreground and a customer at the window of the shop, within gilt-scroll borders, the rerverse painted with scattered flower-sprays, blue crossed swords and gilder's marks -- 5 1/8in. (13cm.) diam., the porcelain circa 1740, the decoration circa 1770 (wear, star crack to underside)
