Tassie F', 'JAMES STRUTHERS 1807 Tassie F.' also '...UNI AEQUUS VIRTUTI Tassie ..1779..', 'F M' and 'WEDGWOOD'; with further descriptive labels to the reverse of three; each under glass; seven in wood frames and one in plaster frame.

James Tassie (1735-1798) was an eminent Scottish medallist who moved to London in 1766 and established himself as the leading supplier of portrait medallions of famous contemporaries in the antique manner. Many of his subjects were also Scottish, like Robert Adam.
