With inset octagonal pietra dura top inlaid with specimen and semi-precious stones including lapis lazuli with flowering and fruiting sprays framing ribbon-entwined shells on a black marble ground, the beaded frieze edged with egg-and-dart ornament and entrelacs on fluted supports carved with foliage framing a tazza of flowers, on scrolled quadripartite legs, with pressed metal label 'M293', repairs to feet
