WORDSWORTH, William (1770-1850). Autograph letter signed to the Revd. G.W. Bartlett, Rydal Mount, 21 July, n.y. [1847?], one page, 4to, integral address leaf (to Bartlett, 'care of Messrs Smith Elder and Co.').
A letter of thanks for his correspondent's 'Voices from the [?] Dormitory', although 'suffering too much in mind from the death and sickness of one of my nearest connections to be able to pay attention to books', and trusting that the work will answer its sacred purpose. Possibly written after the death of his daughter, Dorothy Quillinan, in 1847. His correspondent was evidently publishing an anthology. The letter is apparently unpublished (not in the The Letters ed. A.G. Hill (revised edition), 1978-1988).
