8° (209 x 129mm). Half-title. 27 woodcuts, of which 16 are folding and 6 printed on both sides, 7 pages of engraved music 'Tons de chasse et fanfares'. All but one plate and the final quire printed on blue paper. (Without blank pp. 447-48 [EE8] as usual, plate for p.187 misbound at p.287.) Crimson morocco janseniste by Trautz-Bauzonnet, edges marbled and gilt. THE SCHWERDT COPY OF THE SECOND, AUGMENTED EDITION ('LE TEXTE DéFINITIF' - THIéBAUD) OF A 'CLASSIC ON HUNTING' (SCHWERDT). The present copy formerly graced the Beaufort-Fresne-Schwerdt collections. All notable collections of hunting books, Schwerdt's ws famed for its rarities in fine condition, and it was described in his bibliographical catalogue Hunting, Hawking, Shooting. The woodcuts in the present work are those of the first edition (1763), with 3 additions. Souhart 299-300; Schwerdt I, p.313; Thiébaud 589-90.
