The cowrie shell with reeded mounts, the cover engraved with the initials 'JH', the interior with later mirror
The shell - 4 in. (10 cm.) long
Together with a Continental silver-mounted ivory paper-knife with eagle head handle, 19th century - 13¼ in. (33.4 cm.); and another, with hammered handle engraved with the initials 'JCB', with mark of SSD/ED, London, 1897, blades damaged - 10¼ in. (26 cm.) long (3)
