The drum case with white repainted Roman dial, with subsidiary seconds ring and slow/fast adjustment to the centre, inscribed SS Great Eastern/Maldon, blued steel hands, the eight day single barrel movement with covered platform lever escapement, back plate signed SMITH'S ASTRAL -- 10½in. (27cm.) diameter
