Lot Essay

Albert Henry Atkins, a Boston sculptor, was known for his portraits, fountains and garden sculpture. He exhibited frequently at the National Academy of Design, New York, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, and at the National Sculpture Society, New York. His public works include the Copenhagen Memorial Fountain in Boston, the Lapham Memorial in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the World War I memorial in Roslindale, Massachusetts.
