A Russian silver-mounted and ivory-inlaid rosewood, ebony and ebonised travelling companion**
Second half 19th Century
The hinged top centred by the Royal double-headed eagle crest of the Russian Empire, opening to reveal a red-velvet fitted interior, above two central doors with intricate lockplates, opening to reveal seven drawers, the sides each flanked by a handle cast with lion heads
11½ in. (29 cm.) high; 18¾ in. (48 cm.) wide; 12 in. (30.5 cm.) deep
