No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VA… Read more An Important Collection of Samplers and NeedleworkThe following lots (96-123) formed part of a collection of textiles, porcelain, furniture and paintings that have descended to the present owners from Emma-Henriette Schiff von Suvero (1863-1924). Fifteen years after her death the pieces were 'sold' to the Staatliche Kunstgewerbemuseum, Vienna, in August 1939. The Museum, now known as the Museum für Angewandte Kunst (MAK), displayed and stored the items until they were rightfully restituted by the Austrian Government to the descendants of Emma-Henriette Schiff von Suvero in Spring 2003.
