An unusual band sampler, worked in coloured silks on a linen ground, worked with the initials MOK, dated 1755, the lower section with alphabets, numerals and border patterns, the upper section with spot motifs, below a couple holding hands and beside them a gorilla wearing a crown, in the centre the Crucifixion and above that a large parrot with the monogram W--35 x 9¾in. (89 x 25cm.)
