Lot Essay

Lieutenant General Sir Thomas Dallas, G.C.B.(1757-1839), Colonel of the 4th Light Cavalry, Madras, married Mary Elliott (d.1812), daughter of Cornelius Elliott, Esq. of Wolfelee, Co. Roxburgh. Dallas was a distinguished cavalry officer who fought in the Carnatic and at the siege of Seringapatam. Their second daughter, Harriet married General Dickson, C.B. of Beenham House, Berkshire.
