Lot Essay

Tarquin calved 23rd February 1886, sire Sir Edward (10631), dam Kathleen. He was sold to Signor Don Miguel T. Salas Esperauza of Buernos Aires.
The present picture was probably commissioned from E. S. Gauci, who painted for the Hereford Herd Book, to celebrate Tarquin winning at the Royal Show of 1888.
