The thistle bowl with A above VOC monogram flanked by flower branches, the reverse with a large three-masted sailing ship with flying pennants on a wavy see, the upper border inscribed 'T WEL VAAREN VAN DE OOSTINDISE COMP: (the prosperity of the East India Company), above an inverted baluster section enclosing elongated tears, on folded conical foot
