A TELLURIUM, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
The 6 cm. diameter terrestrial globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores, with graduated equatorial, ecliptic and Paris meridian, the continents variously coloured, with a gear system mounted at the North Pole to rotate the white-painted wooden moon ball on a wire arm, connected to further gears below the globe, half-concealed in a hexagonal brass box on the end of a long arm with scroll support to the papered Zodiac disc showing compass directions, days of the houses of the Zodiac with pictures, days of the month and further compass directions, with a polished brass reflector, candle holder and a fruitwood turning handle, raised atop a cast-iron column and base, the globe inscribed AARDGLOBE TE ARNHEM BIJ H.A. TJEENK WILLINK FABRIEK VANJ. FELKL PRAAG
