Included in this lot is Van W. 28: Brasier at Stamboel, which etching was also published in the annual portfolio of the Nederlandse Etsclub in 1891. Three years earlier Bauer became a member of this club.
In 1891 seven of Bauer's etchings travelled to New York for exhibition.
