This painting was part of a series of 36 Ragamala miniatures sold at Sotheby's, London, 27 March 1973, lots 65-100. Whereas Ragamala series in this style were formerly assigned to Central India, they are now acknowledged to be from Jaipur. For another comparable series see K.
