Engraved title in each part, 74 engraved plates after Louis Binet. (Small flaw in B5 in vol. I affecting a few letters of bottom 2 lines of text, J1 in vol. I with small hole affecting 2 letters, occasional light spotting, very light browning in vol. IV.) Late 19th- early 20th-century half red morocco, spines titled in gilt, gilt edges (corners bumped). FIRST EDITION. According to Rives Childs, of all of Restif's works Le Paysan perverti had the greatest influence on the development of modern French literature.
