manuscript on buff paper, each octagonal folio with 16ll. of small black naskh, punctuation, verse markings and sura headings in red, gold margins within black rules, margined later on cream paper with gold and polychrome medallions marking the divisions of text, gold outer margin, four Qajar gold and polychrome illuminated bifolios at start, (occasional smudging and staining, some splitting along margins, a few repairs), lacquer binding (worn), Persia, 17th and 19th century - 4½ x 3in. (12 x 7.5cm.)
