A LONGQUAN CELADON CARVED BULB BOWL
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
The compressed body raised on three curved mask supports and carved around the sides with the Eight Trigrams between bands of widely spaced bosses, covered with a rich sea-green glaze except for an irregular patch in the center left in the biscuit and impressed with the character fu, 'happiness', within a barbed diaper medallion, the center of the base also left in the biscuit and burnt orange in the firing
