Clear even red colour, nice depth. Brilliant bouquet, restrained at first and then opening up with plums, currant and a hint of mint and earth. This is repeated on the palate; lots of flavour; dry, balanced and still with lots of body and tannin; strong smooth and ripe finish. A great '85, has that femine feel about it. Almost irresistable now, but will go on for at least 5 years. ***** April 2002 DW
