Russet iron and unusual construction with a large, hinged jaw, the nose piece separately forged and attached; fitted with a two-lame solid-plate iron throat guard lacquered black, laced in orange and blue and attached with stencilled leather

Lot Essay

Masks with a hinged jaw are very unusual. This was likely to have been ordered by a special request.
